Experience gained after four weeks test pilot at Schmelzmetall Deutschland GmbH
26.05.2010, 11:40

Already after four weeks of testing the machine-data system "Machine track" a first optimization potential in the Schmelzmetall Deutschland GmbH can be recognized. At the turning machines a reduction of 12% of setup time can be saved. In the planned work time of two shifts this means an increase of the availability of approximately 10 hours per week.

Another potential result is in the cleaning times. Here's a savings of 15-20% expected, about 12-20 hours per week.

The pilot test will be completed in mid-June and then evaluated the results.

Schmelzmetall Deutschland GmbH does pilot-project!
07.05.2010, 14:11

Since the foundation of Schmelzmetall Deutschland AG in 1959 the company has become the competent partner for specific types of tempered copper alloys. Today, Schmelzmetall is a leading manufacturer of high-performance materials and present by its own subsidiaries and partners worldwide. Their HOVADUR ® materials stand for highest quality and optimized price/performance.

Building on the expertise of more than four decades, Schmelzmetall is well versed to manufacture special copper alloys in vacuum. This sophisticated production processes guarantees a high uniformity of our alloys. In combination with the knowledge of subsequent processing to semi-finished products and finished parts there is a unique advantage for the customers: high-performance materials with precise concerted properties that meet varied individual needs.

The Schmelzmetall Deutschland GmbH wants now to improve their productivity in their manufacturing and started a pilot project together with Arrow Engineering Oy. The eight week pilot should provide first-hand experience in dealing with an automatic real-time capture of the relevant machine data. The objectives of this pilot project are recognizing the optimization potentials during the production. This requires a detailed gathering of all incident and waiting reasons during cycle times of the machines. All errors during the production and occurring still-stands are collected, so that bottlenecks can be recognized and to reach internally a cost reduction.

Customer satisfaction report
16.06.2008, 00:00

Good grades through and through

With our customer satisfaction survey of spring 2008, we wanted to clarify customers' opinions on the separate parts of our service lines. Thank you all, who took part in the survey. Once again you provided us with valuable information on how to develop our operations and enhance the quality of our services even further.

It was nice to hear that our customers were very satisfied with their partnership with ARROW Engineering Oy. We got a good general grade of which we are very proud. Especially our helpdesk received good feedback on its proficiency, fast response times, and flexibility.

Furthermore, the survey indicates that customers really feel they can take their productivity to a new level with the help of ARROW systems and services. ARROW Engineering Oy was found to be a very flexible, trustworthy partner and a good listener, when it comes to customer requests. We are very pleased that the recommendation percentage for ARROW software once more increased substantially: nearly 94 % of those who participated in the survey would recommend ARROW to business partners and other companies.

Development targets

Besides the praise, we also received some good development suggestions for improving our services. In the future, we will continue to develop our products, follow-up marketing, and information policies. Some answers to the request for more information are our renewed website and a customer magazine, which will be published twice a year. We also plan to take on some development proposals, which we received through the survey.

Our participation in the MAINTAIN 2008 – review – a stunning success
29.10.2008, 18:01

The MAINTAIN 2008 has closed its gates, and one result of this year’s participation is that professional, managed maintenance workflow has gained more importance. Despite of a growing number of co-exhibitors, we noted an enormous increase in interested contacts and were able to welcome many interested customers to our fair stand.

The huge amount of direct, positive feedback on our easy-to-use work management system ARROW Maint has proven the success of our user-friendly approach. Maint is a tool aimed at helping our customers get the maximum benefit from organising their maintenance organisation and developing it into a real competitive advantage.

We always put the focus beyond simply selling a piece of software, as we see Maint as an important tool in a bigger project that is meant to help you accomplish your goals. Therefore, consulting and individual software adaption are essential elements of our services right alongside the system delivery itself.

After these above-average results we will certainly be glad to welcome you again to our next year's Maintain fair stand.

Hannover Fair 2009 – Digital Factory – Positive conclusion
27.04.2009, 15:01

The 2009 Hannover Fair ended with yet another great success as a whole and for us. A total of 210 000 visitors and 6 150 exhibitors from 61 nations were registered, which indicated another sharp increase in the interest toward the fair.

Despite of - or maybe even because of -  the slowed down global economical situation, we were able to welcome a great number of interested visitors, who had a clear focus on finding systems for production optimisation and better resource management.

The especially positive feedback on our solutions in the areas of maintenance management and monitoring once more reinforces our view of ourselves as solution delivery experts with the actual software just being one part of a bigger project to increase our customers’ productivity. Consulting services, support, and individually configured software are equally important parts of our services.

Due to the great success of last week’s trade fair engagement we know for sure that we will be present with yet another stand next year at the 2010 Hannover Fair. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
