Finn Spring Oy, a producer of spring water and soft drinks located in Central Ostrobothnia in Finland, took the ARROW Novi maintenance system into use at the end of October. The device hierarchy and preventive maintenance plans for three different factories were made at a fast pace. Common guidelines for developing maintenance operations were set right at the beginning of the project.
“Even though Finn Spring hasn’t had a maintenance system before, and the Novi implementation project was begun from scratch, the customer always had in mind to start using the system as soon and as effectively as possible. In addition, the customer had ha clear view on how and why a maintenance system should be used so that it would be as useful as possible in the future. The system was clearly long-awaited among the company managers, supervisors as well as the maintenance mechanics,” says ARROW project manager Ville Keskinen.
The system was implemented during three weeks, and it has been in active basic use since the end of October. In the near future, purchase and storage functions will also be implemented. “The introduction of Novi was very fast and we were able to use the system in our everyday work from the start. Of course, full-scale use requires additional work so that we can get all machines and maintenance in the system. Plus, we’re eagerly expecting to get the spare parts feature. From the beginning of the year, we introduced work requests in production, and our experience is that it has been very useful in improving our operation,” report maintenance supervisor Mika Haaponiemi and production manager Juha-Jaakko Niemelä at Finn Spring Oy.
