New appointments in ARROW management
M. Sc. (Tech.) Sami Kajan, age 32, has been appointed the CEO of ARROW Engineering from the 22nd March 2019 onward. Kajan succeeds Pekka Pylkkänen, a founding member of the company who is leaving the service.
Kajan worked for three years as a vice president and the system supply chain director for ARROW. Before this, he has built up an international career in food industry.
”I’m taking on this new position with excitement and expectation. ARROW has an excellent market position, but we still have plenty to achieve both in Finland and abroad. For the last three years we have worked tirelessly to develop all parts of the business,” says Kajan.
Focus on making people’s daily work easier
From August 2018, ARROW has been a subsidiary of the Protacon. ARROW’S turnover has grown for the last 3 years by 100 per cent.
“Digitalization in industry is a strategic priority for Protacon, and ARROW’s services are at its core. We will continue to invest in ARROW’s business through the development of know-how and offerings, and by organizing our business volume in line with the requirements of business growth, ”says Janne Hakala-Ranta, Business Area Director at Protacon.
”ARROW is a trusted cooperation partner. We have succeeded in getting a strong foothold as a partner in the information digitalisation of production and maintenance. From our perspective, digitalisation has never been just a technology project. Digitalisation is a way to make the processes better and thus a tool for the management. It is about figuring out how we can make daily work easier for people working in our client companies. The beneficiary and the user of technology is a human being, and humans are the one we want to serve,” continues Kajan.
The strong growth of the company is also due to significant product launches. Last year, ARROW launched a modern and completely server-based MES system ARROW GEMA, that guides production operator in their daily work. At the end of the year, the markets saw the new ARROW 5S Audit that digitalizes data from 5S audits for the use of management.
”The GEMA solution has already been supplied to over 30 factories. There has been a clear need for a modern production development and leadership solution. As to 5S, it is our SaaS service solution that can easily be acquired from our website, for instance.”
Growth demands strong expertise and efficient service organisation
A substantial part of the ARROW service concept is a deep process expertise from various industries.
“We further develop the supply method in which our customers start to use not only a new system, but also a new way of leading and developing their own processes. It is very important for us that our cooperation bears fruit, but it also needs to be pleasant for our customer. Maybe this also explains our customer drain that is unusually low for our industry,” Kajan remarks gladly.
At the same time, some other appointments have also been made in the ARROW organisation. Ville Vilhu who previously worked as the Key Customer Manager will be the new Director, Supply Chain, responsible for leading and developing the ARROW supply chain.
Marko Sormunen who was responsible for project manager tasks has been appointed as the new Key Customer Manager. He will also act as the team leader for the GEMA system.
